Objectives

With this project, in addition to expanding our network of contacts and partners at European level, we wanted to offer our numerous associates and trainers training opportunities on socio-cultural issues. During the application we were and still are convinced that these training opportunities can really make a difference, both for trainers and for our learners, and we have identified 3 main objectives: 1 - The goal of greater internationalization and openness to Europe is directly linked to the training need to acquire new and more detailed skills in the field of European planning. 2- Increasing our skills on issues and activities related to active citizenship and multiculturalism, to meet a need dictated by the multicultural dimension in which our association operates. Our reality is characterized by a presence of 20% of the local population of a foreign nature. With the courses chosen on this topic we have been able to develop new paths and projects at the local level, actions that make foreigners feel an integral part of the "city's social fabric". 3 - The goal of improving our training offer, protion and use of the cultural heritage to promote social inclusion with a focus on the social role of museums.

Background

In 2019, when we applied for this project, a strategic partnership had started just a year earlier. During the first year of work we realized that our competences in both European and curricular planning were decidedly inferior to those of our partners. We also felt the need to update ourselves on very relevant issues for our territory, such as socio-cultural planning, active citizenship, multiculturalism, creation of community networks. As an association we also wanted to be promoters of network and community actions, to study good practices and original projects, ways of involving the local community and strategies for interacting with the public and private sectors. Before presenting the this project application, we met in the assembly and the President asked everyone to think about what skills and competences should be increased. From this brainstorming it emerged the need to improve our skills in the fields of socio-cultural planning, management of European projects, key skills of active citizenship, digital skills, learning to learn and training planning. In addition to this, having already started an internationalization process in 2018, we considered to expand our opportunities and our European professional network
