Objectives

Young people across Europe are encouraged to be active citizens, but young people are often referred and seen as "citizens in the making", "future leaders" and are never fully integrated and actively engaged in understanding, sensitizing or resolving socially relevant issues of own local communities. The "Arts for Inclusion" project aims to involve and encourage young people to be socially active and to contribute to the identification and sensitization of problems related to young people within their communities. The project is developed and created by young people from Italy, Czech Republic (P2), Romania (P3), Ukraine (P4), Bosnia and Herzegovina (P5) and Turkey (P6). Represented partner organizations are working with young people with fewer opportunities aged 18 to 25 from refugee / migrant backgrounds, ethnic minorities and / or socially excluded young people living in rural areas. During the project activities, young people will work to identify local and socially relevant issues related to young people, conduct research and create information packages that explain the identified problems, produce and create works of art using innovative artistic methods to raise awareness of local communities and engage in brainstorming discussions to encourage public authorities and the local community to interact with young people in finding solutions to problems related to young people. In all the planned activities the project aims to: - encourage, motivate and guide young people to become actively involved in the community; - identify urgent issues related to young people in the communities represented; - create informative materials (information packets) that explain the problem identified according to the point of view of young people; - produce innovative works to be used as tools to sensitize local communities; - create a dialogue between local communities to address the identified problems and find solutions. Young people from all partner countries will work to identify a socially relevant youth issue: discrimination, unemployment, lack of recreational activities, dirty neighborhoods, bullying at school etc. After identifying a socially relevant issue related to young people in their community, information packages will be created that present the identified problems. After understanding and being aware of the identified problem, young people will create works of art representing the identified problem. The works of art are created with the condition that they were made halfway before the A1 Youth Exchange international mobility activity. Then, during the Youth Exchange activity in Venice, the groups of young people present the problems identified and exchange the artworks and then work in mixed groups to finish the artworks. Cross-cutting work will allow young people from all participating countries to become aware of the other issues faced by colleagues abroad. Overall, the project aims to encourage and create a youth actively committed to promoting diversity, intercultural dialogue, common values of freedom, tolerance and respect for human rights within their local communities and the promotion of dialogue between young people and the community in addressing the issue issues related to young people. It is expected that the project will produce information packets with the problems identified by young people and works created by young people to increase awareness and problem resolution. The project is structured to be the starting point to face and stimulate young people to interact with local authorities in the search for solutions to the problems identified.
