Objectives

Food is an essential element in our life and is a subject that brings many reflections with itself, while awakening important questions. Approximately 90% of the world's supply of fresh water is used for agricultural purposes, then how much impact our daily meals have on water resources? where our food comes from and how much it travels before arriving at our table? the workers on the fields and in the supply chains do they have all good working conditions regarding the health and safety and are paid fair? In addition to think about these question, today it is essential to spread a greater awareness of the meaning of "fast fashion" and of what low-cost production entails. This sector produces the 20% of global waste of water and 10% of carbon dioxide emissions and according to the UN Economic Commission, 85% of the clothes produced ends up in landfills and only 1% is recycled. We love fashion, but we do not want our clothes to come to cost people's lives or our planet. Ignorance or indifference can in fact cause enormous and irreversible damage. On the contrary, an in-depth knowledge, but definitely within everyone's reach, is enough to obtain for ourselves and for future generations a better life and an environment with a greater harmony between necessity and progress. The objectives of the project are: Raising public awareness of environmental issues in the fashion and food industry by providing them with knowledge and skills in terms of environmental protection and sustainable development, including the Fair Trade movement through constructive dialogue and the creation of the campaign. The young people will also strengthen skills in a European dimension, including: critical thinking, teamwork, analysis, mastery of the foreign language. This knowledge and skills are becoming more required in the labor market and allso makes the participants active citizens that contributes to local and european community in order to create a sustainable society that respects ecological principles; The young people will become the active promoters of their territory through the creation of videos, photos, menus with typical dishes, etc. We will encourage inclusion of the young people with fewer opportunities by offering them the opportunity to learn about other cultures by confronting each other's differences.
