The idea of “Live Sustainable, Live Outdoor” was the result of the desire matured within our young people and some of those they met in their previous experience, to initiate their own youth exchange in their home town on the topic of nature and sustainable approaches. This youth exchange will centre around the topics of sustainability, sustainable practices, old traditions, traditional games and volunteering for nature. Our world has been facing many difficult challenges regarding the environment and a major contribution is given also by our daily behaviors which have an impact as well on the environment but most of us are not aware of how much they can make a difference. Change is necessary for the future of the plane but how can we be part of the change? Now more than ever it is important for new generations to understand the importance to change this trend and to be responsible for the health of the planet, to create an opportunity for their future and the future of their communities. We want to invite participants to discover an international experience, creative sustainable practices, their relations to nature, possibilities to be outside, and a “piece of nature” by themselves and share their experiences with each other. We see an urgent need to get more involved in environmental sustainability, relations to action and acting FOR nature. Based on this, we want to share experiences, discover new practices and strengthen common values around this topic. Sustainability and environemental sustainability are attitudes to experience, discover and share in order to grow. Moreover, it is known that activities in nature have direct health benefits, such as spending time in a forest or gardening. These activities reconnect us, they ground us, offer alternatives and movement, involve us in a more complete sense. This is even more important in times of digitalization and digital entertainment. It is often not difficult to get involved in outside activities and to spend some time in the open, giving yourself a welcoming change in occupation and concentration. It reduces stress and widens your physical and mental capacities. In this YE, we want to connect these issues directly to activities FOR nature – activities for sustainability, collecting good practice examples, and discover ways on how to be active in nature in forms of volunteering. This YE will aim to motivate the participants to experience sharing in the first part of the YE and go to discovering by themselves in the second part of this project. The aims of the project are to: - raise awareness in the participants about the importance of protecting the nature and enjoying it in volunteering activities - build-up the concept of sustainability and volunteering among the participants by learning from others’ experiences and looking at local examples - connect the Mediterranean culture and give the opportunity to the participants to get in touch with different cultures and traditions all coming from the Mediterranean background, being able to share their experience and visions. - foster interculturalism and friendship through experiencing nature together - help them build up their confidence and awareness about strengths and talents As such, this Youth exchange invites participants to explore their own strengths and talents, explore their environment, play with each other and get to know each other, discover entertainment without screens, facilitate activities for each other, live a social community experience, build up concepts of sustainability and the protection of nature and discover volunteering activities for nature and for the society. They will share their own perceptions and experiences and will learn and get inspired from each other.
