The partners of the project "Chances for changes" are different organizations working in the field of non formal education on delicate themes or in difficult environment. The project is aimed at responding to the need of support of professionals working on war or post-war, or with individuals experiencing exclusion or with people suffering from traumas. Educators, if not aware of the risks their work represents can corrupt their practice, in situations as above described, where educational failures are even more serious and may have counterproductive effects. The aim of this project is to provide participants, who work as educator for the partner organizations, of instruments and competences, for a better management of their own work, to make it more efficient. The seminar is held in the area of the Parco Storico di Monte Sole, where in Autumn 1944 a nazi massacre of civilians occurred, mostly known as "Strage di Marzabotto". In this area the Foundation Peace School of Monte Sole develops and implement several educational projects, some of them directly facing the issue of conflict and post-conflict coexistence. The site itself, which now is an isolated beautiful Park, invites to reflect on the elements enabling violence and consequently what can be alternative non violent solutions. The working sessions will be in some of the different memorial sites inside the Park. The project is designed to address different themes, as the neutrality or involvement of educators working on themes or with people as above described and to detect what are the critical points in any position or attitude and how they may affect the educational work. Other relevant themes are emotional contagion, emotional mimicry and burn out syndrome. A further knowledge about these risks and their potential impact on educational work is extremely important for educators who will be then able to be aware of symptoms and therefore intervene.
