The project DIY - Digital Intercultural Youth will involve young people from 5 countries (Italy, Belgium, Estonia, Slovakia, Spain), some of them facing fewer opportunities due to their socio-cultural and economic disadvantaged background. Thanks to this project, we aim at dealing with the issue of conscious use of digital tools by youngsters and providing them the opportunity of living an intercultural experience which, on the one hand, will guide them towards a path of knowledge and curiosity towards other cultures, on the other, will stimulate them to become messenger of values such as tolerance and mutual respect, values which are the base of a cohesive society where the new generations should be supported in taking an active and participatory role. Therefore, the project has the following objectives: - increasing the involvement of young people in the promotion of active tolerance and intercultural understanding, and letting them know how to use digital tools to become multipliers of these values - developing young people’s critical thinking in relation to media products and helping them to be able to better interpret the messages disseminated by the various media - making young people known media as a tool for active participation in society (digital activism) - enhancing young people’s technical skills with regard to the creation of digital content such as videos, photos, voice messages, stories, etc. to express oneself and one's own points of view.
