The project aims to be a completion and a continuation of what was achieved last year with the same partners in the "Positive Footprint" exchange held in France, whose objectives were: respect for nature, construction of a more responsible future of patterns of consumption and construction of cities and villages. Topics discussed during this exchange of young people were: ways of consumption, recycling and construction of eco-responsible elements. With the exchange "Do it yourself" we want to give the participants the awareness that today we are used to buying everything already done, from food to clothes, to products for cleaning and hygiene, and to all the tools and objects of use daily. And yet, buying everything already done has not negligible consequences: it negatively affects the planet and our health. Meanwhile, it means buying packaged products and then producing an enormous amount of waste and packaging. Secondly, it means having much less control over how that food, those detergents or cosmetics have been produced: in many cases we will not know where they come from, or what's inside, which toxic chemicals will end up in our stomachs or we will absorb through the skin. If we want to control all these side effects, a possible solution is self-production. The theme of the exchange "Do it yourself!" is therefore the self-production of food, detergents, detergents, games and everything that can be done within the eco-village "Parco dei Crisciuni", in Valsinni in the province of Matera, where the children will be hosted, a place immersed in nature created with respect for the environment and man and an experimental center for environmental sustainability. The cross-cutting theme of exchange is also the reflection on lifestyles and consumption. The activities are also aimed at comparing different lifestyles, highlighting how these influence daily consumption, have an impact on the surrounding environment and the possibilities to take healthier lifestyles. The theme of exchange is also European citizenship and how each culture lives in similar and different ways, so that good practices can be transmitted and infected by the communities. Project OBJECTIVES Youth exchange has the following objectives: - stimulate critical thinking on the environmental and economic consequences of food waste; - promote and share positive practices to prevent food waste and strengthen the sustainability of the food system; - lead young people on the path of "conscious consumption", providing useful basic information; Participants will be involved in the organization and implementation of a series of group activities and role-playing games that will lead to reflect on the issue of waste and conscious consumption of food, culture, stereotypes and prejudices, intercultural communication. The project will be developed through non-formal learning modalities allowing it to develop particular skills and attitudes such as: working in a group, taking responsibility, developing a spirit of adaptation, flexibility.
