The project aims to offer participants, who come from different areas of Europe, the opportunity to a consciously experience of coexistence and dialogue between different cultures through music and the arts, in a situation of coexistence where they are the real protagonists. The project is based on the values of sharing and "doing together", a prerequisite for a concretely understood and "lived" European democracy. In Forlì, young people will be able to put into practice through the common experience of music and art, paths of mutual knowledge and sharing of knowledge. The duration of 10 days will allow to carry out formal, non-formal and informal education activities, which will allow young people and their companions to share experiences and emotions in the variety of proposals. In fact, we believe it is important for the aims of the project that the professionalizing aspect is linked to moments in which relationships can be acted in an alternative way. This coincides with the main objectives of "the arts for non-violence", triggering a dialogue between EU members and "partner" countries of the European Union, among which are now included the totality of "partners close to the EU" Western Balkans (region 1) ". The main goal is therefore to offer young people from Italy, Slovenia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, Spain, Romania and Serbia the opportunity to experience a concrete dialogue between different cultures through the language of arts, not only in a virtuosic sense, but as an ensemble, and this with particular reference to music, as well as providing participants with high-level skills in the arts and music through the comparison of different national styles, led by experts and teachers. The work of coordination in addition with the characters and expectations of the partner institutions is important: in the preparation phase of the exchange, working tables are held, both in the presence and through the "social", and all partner countries participate in. So, discussion methods and peer comparison, aimed at defusing conflict and prejudices are allowed. The same happens in exchange activities: young people from all backgrounds are encouraged to know and experiment, and to interact with local realities, different from their own, through the arts and in particular the musical practice, a speechless language further fostered by the English language. The initiatives are aimed to an exchange of experiences that invests the respective cultures, the ways of living the culture itself, not only music, and to share the management of activities, objectives ... even if the the project is aimed at countries where different languages are spoken, that practice different religions and whose students also belong to minority ethnic groups. The evaluation of the effectiveness of the activities is carried out through different performance moments in Forlì, Faenza, Santa Sofia: they become a metaphor of a "possible" collaboration and coexistence between people whose countries, cultural contexts, languages, religions ... are different, but all of them are available to mix their differences in a unique harmony, where everyone is recognizable and all at the same time work together for a unique and super-individual purpose, thanks to the "Young pan-European orchestra" and the "Balkan Music Laboratory". Each group will be appropriately prepared in ordder to the project, it will take place from 6 to 15 July 2019 in Italy, in Forlì, in Emilia-Romagna (province of Forlì-Cesena). The host structures will be the Foresteria of the University Center and the Hotel Gardenia, in the historical center, and, for workshops, workshops, rehearsals, the "A. Masini" Music Institute, also in the historical center. The aim of this project is that participants acquire or increase, in addition to technical and linguistic skills, also the ability to work in groups expressing their critical and constructive thinking in a multicultural context, and that they learn how to develop strategies to solve technical and of relationships, problems. The potential long-term benefits (at local, national, and European level) are related to the chance of creating and strengthening links between people of the Western European context, and others that are emerging, believing that young people can be the main actors of social and cultural change. Furthermore, an action of "stimulus" also to institutional relations is not excluded, with a push and an example that come from civil society.
