The objective of the project "Happy Students - Happy Country" is to improve the well-being of pupils through the development of their social and emotional intelligence, to ensure the quality of education through innovation, and to ensure the success of every pupil through strengthened international cooperation. The goal was to acquire international knowledge and experience, to disseminate good practices, to use IT successfully and purposefully in the classroom to improve the quality of education, to know the picture of a happy student, to organise "Happiness Lessons" and to create a positive atmosphere. We wanted the project to contribute to the school's strategic goal of having safe, happy and healthy students. We taught students to be happy through exploring emotions, positive thinking, appropriate problem-solving behaviour, decision-making skills, challenges and discovering students' strengths and interests. In social-emotional education lessons, class periods and clubs, greater focus was placed on self-knowledge, trust, empathy, etc. Of course, we expected to learn how to use IT appropriately and meaningfully, as this is a motivation for modern students to learn. We wanted to make international contacts to prepare for future projects.
Alytus Dainava Progymnasium sets out its goals,objectives,directions for improving the efficiency of its activities,values and other important elements in its Strategic Plan.The Erasmus+ project "Happy Students-Happy Country" takes into account the Strategic Plan for 2018-2020,which states that the community aims to create a modern,democratic,open to change,safe,tradition-and identity-oriented school.To achieve this,the following priorities were set:Improving the quality of education and providing learning support;A safe, healthy and happy child;An independent, responsible and distinctive school;Strengthening links within the school community. The project was written for the purpose of teachers's professional development,sharing and actively applying the knowledge acquired with all members of the community.In this way,the school strived to be modern and to meet the expectations of pupils,parents and society.The project was intended to help the pupils to get knowledge in an innovative way,to analyse the portrait of a happy child,to develop their social-emotional intelligence and to reveal the pupils' strengths.In addition,the aim was to establish contacts that would help develop international cooperation with other schools in the future.
