In general - to improve the knowledge, skills and competences related to the border guard profession. Goals by target groups: For cadets of the Border Guard School (BGS): 1. familiarize with the specifics of the partner's Border Guard Service; 2. to gain international practical experience in conducting border surveillance and inspections when crossing the border; 3. improve knowledge of the English language. For dog handlers: 1. to gain international practical teamwork experience while working together with partner colleagues / or observing; 2. to improve the following competences: practical skills in the protection of the EU's external border, in the monitoring process and during the pursuit and detebtion of border violators, in the search for hidden persons, in the search of the area, in the detection of hidden specific materials; 3. to exchange the good practice in the use of service dogs and their training, the features of state border guarding. For canine specialists organizing SBGS dog handlers' activities: 1. to improve the competences of organization of canine activities; 2. to exchange good practices in the organization of canine activities.
The protection of state border, as well as the external borders of the EU, it is important not only to have a good theoretical and practical preparation to perform the functions of a border guard, but also to be able to integrate with the EU officers guarding the borders and to be able to work together according to a unified standard. The opportunities provided by the ERASMUS+ program significantly contribute to the preparation of young officers for participation in such international activities. Since this is not the first mobility project in which future and existing SBGS officers participate, we see the benefits of this type of project, positive feedback from participants and partners, we aim to further develop and develop the internationality of SBGS, the mobility of employees and learners. Moreover, such mobility projects supports improvement of participants' knowledge, skills and competences related to the border guard profession.
