Objectives

The aim of the project is to promote a healthy lifestyle among the participants with smaller opportunities, to develop their skills through active shared leadership which influences healthy lifestyle, well-being, and cultural awareness and to prepare them to transmit the gained skills further to their local communities. Specific objectives of the project are: - To teach youngsters to share leadership in organizing and multiplying Healthy Lifestyle which positively influences their well-being; - To deepen and enlarge the knowledge got during the previous project on healthy lifestyle and to share that knowledge involving more local communities; - Exchange good practices and experiences related to prevention of diseases not only with their own local communities but post the outcome on their personal social websites to inform and interest people from other cities; - To provide participants and local communities with more opportunities to improve their overall physical, psychological and health competences; - To promote healthy lifestyle and sports as a social inclusion tool for combating marginalization, xenophobia, negative stereotypes (in local, national and European society). The young people from partner countries will also be able to increase their knowledge of Lithuanian culture by visiting local landmarks where social activities will also take place together with local communities. Each organization will be fully involved in the preparation of the exchange, activities during the week: introducing their own countries, culture , notions of healthy way of life in specific daily sessions The proposed project would be a follow up of the previous youth exchange taking place in Druskininkai, Lithuania in September, 2018. It was a start to change the situation but it is not enough and we need to develop the project ideas further. This time we want to organize activities that would be the continuation of our previous activities-each participating organization will have to develop its previous topic further and to include more workshops that boost physical and psychological well-being as well as satisfaction and commitment to healthy way of life. We would like all our participants to take an active part in shared leadership and feel its influence on well-being and not just on them but also on people surrounding them: schoolmates, teachers, relatives and even neighbours. That is why during this project we also want to encourage local communities to join us even in more ways as they did in the previous one. During the project exchange in 2018 when we had activities with school community and local people in the school hall and in the park and each day more and more young people joined us and at the end of the project they expressed the need to continue activities leading to healthy lifestyle. It was not possible to include the majority of school students during 6 project exchange days, so this time we seek to involve those who did not have a chance to take part in healthy way of life activities a year ago and involve them not only in exchange activities but also in all the preparatory activities before the project exchange, during it and after the project. One of the activities is taking place now , after brain storming we are putting their ideas in this application form. The project partners did not stop with the project activities after returning home. They introduced the methods they learned in Lithuania to their local communities by oral presentations and writing to their school websites and local newspapers. Many new students from partner countries expressed wish to take part in healthy way of life activities in their countries and suggested us help in writing a new application for an international exchange. The need for healthy life is very important because these days most young people spend sedentary way of life what causes health problems. Thanks to the project those youngsters became aware of the problems and they see the benefits of sport and healthy way of life and balanced diet. So, the participants of this project from Lithuania, Turkey, Slovakia, France, Romania, Poland and Italy want to continue the activities started in the previous project and to engage new schoolmates. It will start from the learning outcomes of the past exchange and the evaluation results, because all partner countries have formed strong relationships during the previous project and this has enabled the participating young people to desire to learn further, deepen their knowledge, continue the activities started, include new things and activities and involve even more local people.
