“Discover Your Path” is a Youth Exchange project organized by organization “Neribota ateitis” from Lithuania. Main Youth Exchange are planned to take place at 07‐15.10.2019 (16th - travel day) in Kaunas, Lithuania. Participating countries: Lithuania (LT), Italy (IT), Bulgaria (BG), Cyprus (CY) What to do next..? This is one of the hardest question in young people‘s life. Part of young people, carefully planning their future, analyze perspectives in the labor market while attending school and later continuing their studies encouraged by clear personal goals. However, there is another part of youth who, despite not knowing what they would like to be in the future, are still in a hurry to continue their studies, and it is no secret that studies are often chosen by the program title, decision of parents. (http://www.euroguidance.lt/naujienos/gap-year-kodel-verta, 2018-12-08). There is a low level of self-awareness. We made 2 surveys for pupils (aged 16-18) and students (19-24) (in October, 2018). During our visits to schools (in Lithuania‘s towns and cities) we‘ve asked 128 pupils if they are sure what they want to study, work in the future and according to the results – 66% still do not know which direction to choose and only 34% are sure about their future career path. We also visited 3 universities in Kaunas and asked 87 students about their made decision considering to the program of studies – according to the results, 26% of young people decision influenced their parents, 29% think that are not in the right path, 27% do not know if their decision was right because still do not know what they want to do in their life and only 18% respondents are happy and satisfied with their decision. As we, Lithuanians, found out that we have a low level of self-awareness in our community, we decided to be interested and ask about the youth situation in our friends’ communities. Friends form IT and BG (in November, 2018) have organized discussion with its organisation’s members and also found out that many young people who study in school (higher classes) – encounter with the problem of self-awareness – they do not know what studies / future profession to choose. As young people from CY have friends who have just graduated from school and some of them already started to study at university – they had organized meetings with them (in December, 2018) and found out that many of these people are lost in their career path and encounter with the same problem. After we made analysis in our and our friends’ communities, we clearly seen the need to search for solutions to this problem. Youth should know that they do not need to be hurry because reckless decisions can influence their future life / successful entry into the labor market. We believe that this project could help young people to know themselves better, learn more about career opportunities and discover their path. As both we, young people from Lithuania (LT) and others from Italy (IT), Bulgaria (BG), Cyprus (CY) have peers with fewer opportunities, we believe that this project can increase their social inclusion. We will involve no less than 12 youth facing fewer opportunities: economic and social obstacles. Aim: To promote self-awareness of 32 young people, 4 group leaders as a way to link their interests with study and job prospects and the same time to foster social inclusion of 12 participants (social and economic obstacles), in 07-15.10.2019 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Objectives: 1. Increase knowledge about the youth situation in job market and career opportunities in 4 different countries for 32 participants until the end of the project. 2. Help 32 young people discover themselves, their strengths and weaknesses and decide which career path is the best for them in personal through a variety of non-formal formal methods until the end of the project. 3. Encourage 32 young people to focus on discovering their needs, interests, abilities, personality in order to choose studies, job or occupation which are close to their heart and in this way create successful access to the job market, until the end of the project. Our objectives specifically target and linked to Erasmus+ objectives of: 1. The Inclusion and Diversity Strategy by contributing the following aims of the strategy: 1) Increase commitment to inclusion and diversity; 2) Create common understanding among young people with fewer opportunities. 3) Reduce obstacles for young people with fewer opportunities to participate in the programme. 2.
