Food-waste is definitely one of the major societal and environmental challenges of our times. The EU, its countries and citizens conducted several steps on the way to reduce food-waste. Our project hopes to be one of them; raising awareness, encouraging social innovation and environmentally responsible behavior. This project aims to raise awareness on the problematic of food waste and to provide the public with simple improvements that they can implement in the daily life. This project will gather a group of 30 young people to provide them with detailed information regarding food-waste, its challenges, regulations in-place, ongoing initiatives and practical experience. The participants will reflect on the information and engage in dialogue to come up with simple improvements for everyday life of an individual but also more complex ideas that shall be implemented or behaviors that shall be encouraged by the government. This project combines both top-down and bottom-approach while targeting both the public through the video we will target the decision makers through the policy recommendation letter to the public authorities of the participating countries of this project. This letter aims to present new innovative ideas targeting food-waste and equally express to the authorities the concern of the public regarding this issue and its impacts on the environment. This project will not only teach the participants about food waste but also encourage them to be active members of the society and of the the decision making processes in their countries. We will give them a voice to be part of the decision making process and to impact public awareness and knowledge. They will be also introduced to the vast range of opportunities that Erasmus + Programme offers and encouraged to explore their options for the future.
