“European Youth Training: Fostering Collective Knowledge" is a project aiming to offer networking opportunities to peers in the field of youth education and youth work, to enhance the skills development of these youth workers, and in turn help the participating organisation to increase their capacities further. The training course is built on the idea of a multiplying effect and sharing good practices in running youth NGOs across Europe and beyond and allows youth working with similar tasks and responsibilities to learn from each other and build up a network of peers. The final content of the training course and modules will be adapted to the real needs of the participants, and the participants will be asked to give input in the preparatory stages. The training course is based on active participation and will include daily practical exercises, embracing non-formal learning and informal learning methods and encouraging participation. All key activities are run and planned by young volunteers, making the project an entirely youth-run project. The design of the training modules will encourage participants to get to mix and interact with as many other participants as possible. All the training materials and outcomes are documented carefully and made available to the participants, all members of the EYP and the national networks of the partner organisations. The project envisions the participants to act as multipliers, use the tools they acquired and organise a range of follow-up training and workshops for their respective NGO members. The enhanced skills and insights of the participants, the international network of peers and youth NGOs, as well as the documented and compiled training resources, are the main results we expect. With these, we aim at a significant sustainable change in the partner organisations' network. Our main objectives can be described as follows: A) Networking and meeting peers The project facilitates interaction between different participants and partner organisations and helps them learn from each other, develop their own work, and build an international network of trainers and peers within their respective fields of interest. This way, international project partnerships between different partners are fostered. The project allows the participants to establish contacts all over Europe and to build an international network of youth workers, with whom they can later on work. B) Skills development of youth workers In addition to being an international training, this project will also offer possibilities to develop on the personal level for the young volunteers, to help them in their personal development. The participants learn skills, insights and tools which will help them improve on their own tasks in their respective NGOs, as well as help them also later on in their careers. C) Capacity Building and Empowerment of European Youth Organisations This project is a major step in further developing our own network and the participating organisation towards a training-based organisation. After the training event, every participant is encouraged to pass on the new impulses and skills in their respective youth organisations and NGO boards, helping all these organisations to build their capacities through this project. The international scope of the participating organisations will be reinforced by providing the partners with above-mentioned networking opportunities. This project has been developed based on past needs’ analysis and surveys carried out within our network, to identify topics where youth workers feel they lack confidence and skills. The project partners and the participants of the training event, once selected, will also have good opportunities to form the final programme and express their wishes for the training modules to be had as we want to take full advantage of this opportunity and tailor this project to the real needs of the participants.
