The school aimed at reaching the following goals through the implementation of the project: - To modernize the curriculum and contents of comprehensive subjects, to improve the existing curricula, and develop new methodological materials; - To strengthened the capacity of human resources: the project provides support for the development of teachers' professional skills in Europe; - To share innovative experience to other colleagues in their school, city, region, country and Europe, thus promoting the school's visibility and attractiveness among other schools; - To improve the teaching and learning of foreign languages and economics; - To improve the work through the use of elements of the competence-based approach in the study process in comprehensive subjects; - To gain good practice experience in organizing job-shadowing for foreign teachers.
Daugavpils Technical School (DTS) applied for this project with the aim to implement the strategy of sustainable development and internationalization in order to ensure the workforce compliance with the requirements of the European labor market through improving the learning environment in order to endure quality study process and to improve teachers' qualification abroad, thus advancing the quality of education, innovation and internationalization. As DTS renews the teaching process by gradually introducing a curriculum based on the competence approach, modern and attractive subject curricula in comprehensive subjects, innovative teaching methodologies, improved methodological material complexes, modern teaching methods and techniques are needed to make the school learning environment attractive to all students, incl. from abroad. This project enabled the school to adopt innovative education concepts and methodological experience from various European countries as well as to internationalize the teaching process, expand the number of international mobilities and develop intercultural competences and the European dimension, in addition, it helped to develop sustainable cross-border cooperation.
