Within the framework of the mobilities, the participants practically applied the existing knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as acquired new professional skills in accordance with the specifics of their professions. Such experience enables participants to develop their professional competencies, promotes employment opportunities, improves their knowledge of foreign languages, increases their independence, and provides awareness and understanding of the importance of interculturality in the context of today's labor market. This project has promoted the competitiveness of students working in their sector in both local (Latvian) and foreign companies, thus it is a benefit both at the national and European level. The experience gained abroad by the specialists and professionals of Valmieras tehnikums helps to enrich the study content, as well as to create new initial vocational education programs. Within the framework of this project, the main emphasis was placed on the development and improvement of educational programs in the field of STEM at Valmieras tehikums, as well as more attention was paid to the possibility of enrolling international students in the programs offered by Valmieras tehnikums.
The goals of the project “International internship for Professional Development” were to promote the strengthening and development of professional knowledge and skills of Valmieras tehnikums students by gaining work experience in an international environment, and to improve the content of priority educational programs in Valmieras tehnikums.
