Objectives

The goal of this project is to create informative materials that promote awareness of cyberbullying among young people. Through informal learning participants want to get deeper insight into cyberbullying and to be able to discuss the negative effects of CB with their peers. Project objectives: - to do a research on cyberbullying and to clear what is CB, what counts as CB and what doesn`t. The research covers also topics like what institutions in both countries have been established or are responsible for fight against CB, the official statistics on CB. Whether recommendations by European Parliament from its study of 2016 "Cyberbullying among young people" have been met in Latvia and Turkey. Make a research in both schools to assess the level of CB that young people face online. - to interview students who have faced CB about their experience, emotions, reaction to being bullied online and to create a brochure "The Ugly face of the Internet" with description of CB and its impact on victim in English. Each organization will be able to translate this brochure into their language if willing. - to create poster "All Eyes on Cyberbullying" with alarm signs that can help recognize that you or someone you know is being bullied online and actions to undertake in order to stop it, and to promote the poster. The objectives of E+ and KA1 covered by this project: -During this project its participants will improve their media literacy skills and a sense of self-initiative. Very often teenagers think that their jokes are innocent and harmless, so they post online content that can be humiliating to their peers, they tag their friends under posts in Facebook that have derogatory content, they alter pictures of their peers and post them online. This shows the lack of media literacy skills, because two of the basic aspects of media literacy is the quality of content created by each person and tolerance towards others while using media. -After this project its participants will be encouraged to call out CB - to undertake initiative in order to stop CB when facing CB themselves or observing someone else being bullied. -This project will promote tolerance and comprehension towards other cultures, it will decrease the stereotypes students from both countries have about each other. They will see that they are more similar than different, that they face the same struggles and problems that can be facilitated while working together. -Students will learn together and teach each other thus promoting such values as solidarity (supporting each other and overcoming problems together), democracy (responsible youth will lead to responsible society which is they key to longevity of democracy), friendship (new friendship will be created during the project). -Students will improve their English language skills. During this project students will improve these Key Competences: Media literacy competence; Communication in foreign language; Social competence; Sense of initiative.
