We want to create a project by and for youngsters who are currently not involved in Erasmus+ program, either because they don’t know about it or because of economical, educational, social or geographical obstacles. We have noticed that Erasmus+ is becoming something of a “closed club” with people traveling from one project to another. So in order to change that we are creating this project. To achieve that we will lower the language barrier, focus on intercultural learning and expression as well as provide financial support if necessary. The objectives of our project are as follows: -to organize 10-day youth exchange in Bebrene (Latvia) for 30 participants, who have never been on international mobility before and 6 accompanying experienced group leaders, -to improve key competences of the participants involved in this project through individual need assessment and workshops made to address these needs facilitated by group leaders, -to organize 6 follow-up events for at least 150 people involved in 2 month period after the youth exchange, -to learn from each other during the main activity through workshops organised by participants, -to raise awareness about the possibilities Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps and other European programs offer; We want to make Erasmus+ mobility more available and include disadvantaged groups of youth, who are currently neglected or are unaware of such opportunities. Through participation in this project youngsters will improve their confidence and English language skills, though will be better equipped for a job market. We want to improve key competences of the participants in order to improve their employability and encourage future mobility. Many of our participants come from regions with high youth unemployment and international mobility can be a great tool to find a job and/or learn and develop skills needed for employment. During this project participants will develop organizational skills, practice public speaking and facilitation skills. We want to encourage active participation and break the barriers that currently are established to participate in Erasmus+ projects. We want to improve local community and support local farmers and local agricultural holdings in the least developed region of Latvia with highest unemployment rate in the country.
