Main reasons to carry out training course ‘New young entrepreneurs’ are: 1. High level of youth unemployment countries of the Western Balkans, especially in Republic of Macedonia. According to the report of World Bank from 2018: “Youth unemployment fell faster than the overall unemployment rate, but remained high compared to EU countries. Almost one quarter of the youth population was not in employment, education or training (NEET), which was less than a year earlier, but still high by international standards.” According to public opinion surveys, high unemployment is invariably perceived as the single most important problem the region is facing and it is one of the key factors influencing decision of young people to leave their countries. It means the countries of the Western Balkans are exporters or smart, educated people. Even membership in EU does not mean end of brain drain of young people as can be seen from developments in Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria. Besides brain drain long term unemployment has also a lasting (negative) impact on youth terms of individual self-esteem, social integration, cohesiveness and citizenship and strong impact on community development; 2. Need to encourage innovative thinking and entrepreneurial mind-set among young people: young people should be encouraged to think and act innovatively and they need to see the non-formal learning as a source for new skills, civic participation, autonomy and self-esteem. Youth work can bring an important contribution to the stimulating young people’s spirit of initiative, creativity and entrepreneurship, but first of all young people active in the youth field need to have relevant competences to work on this issue. The training course ‘New young entrepreneurs’ is focused on developing youth worker’s/leader’s skills and competences for stimulating young people’s initiative, creativity and entrepreneurship as well as ensuring the existence of opportunities to further develop these competences. These two main reasons made the consortium to prepare training course ‘New young entrepreneurs’ design to meeting following objectives: - To provide a non-formal learning and exchange of experience between youth workers/ leaders how to stimulate young people’s creativity, to develop entrepreneurial skills and initiative; - To equip youth workers/leaders with new tools, competences and knowledge to work with young people in order: stimulating their spirit of initiative, their preparation for entrance into labor market, their ability for active participation and development own enterprises; - To prepare participants to transfer the acquired knowledge, new tools and new skills with other youth workers/leaders in their countries (multiplier effect) and apply them in their work with young people particularly in work with young unemployed people; - To promote international cooperation, sustain and widen existing networks of youth workers and youth leaders, and initiate projects with multilateral approach to youth employment and youth participation; - To promote Erasmus + Programme as opportunity for gaining new skills and competencies of young people and to encourage creation of future projects in the framework of the programme with unemployed youngsters as a target group of promoters.
