1. Job shadowing and training for academic members of staff abroad in their field of work in order to ensure that they are giving the students the best possible high level of knowledge and skills, as a result improving the learning experience of the students. 2. Improve processes, systems and procedures in the administrative area with the objective of enhancing the students' experience. 3. Be exposed to a multicultural environment which is synonymous to the tourism and hospitality industry. 4. Be exposed to possible new practices in other education institutions which could enhance the operations of the new campus in Smart City.
As part of the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) internationalization strategy and its move to a new campus in Smart City (Malta), VET mobilities for administrative and academic staff are key for the improvement of staff and management competencies in its internationalization process. It also reinforces cooperation with partners from other countries in education including hospitality and tourism education offering further opportunities for future projects. This project also contributes to the strategic direction of ITS for the professional development of staff to meet both individual needs and organisational objectives. Staff who undergoes a VET mobility will have the opportunity for job training / teaching in fields related to their work to gain new knowledge, skills and experiences, and to share their experience with their colleagues at the Institute.
