The main aim of our project was to educate youth workers in the field of entrepreneurship. This was achieved through the carrying out of following objectives: - Improved learning performance - Improved leadership skills - Explored what it takes to be an entrepreneur and how to manage risk taking - Learnt how to make use of the Canvas Business Model - Enhanced employability and improved career prospects - Increased sense of initiative and entrepreneurship - Increased self-empowerment - Explored risk assessment and management - Time management - Increased motivation This project involved partners from Poland, Romania, Malta and Lithuania, which according to the Eurostat have a lower youth unemployment rate than the average, while we have Spain, Cyprus, Italy and Croatia that are above the 16.8% EU average rate of unemployment. The people from different countries shared their experience with the other participants, thus focusing on peer-learning. Through this training course we enhanced the youth workers' competencies on how to educate young people in starting their business. Following the training course the youth workers are more equipped for preparing the young people in their community to face this issue of starting a business themselves. One great positive outcome is that once the knowledge was transferred from the youth workers to the young people, the young people have better support system and guidance towards the right support needed to start up a business venture that has the possibility of growing more in the future and thus employing more people within the same society. This has a multiplying effect on the societies of the respective participants. Furthermore, as the youth workers are empowered and have been given added skills on how to effectively open and run a business, they are also in a better position to decide to open a social enterprise themselves, which will benefit them, and the whole community as the money generated will be re-invested in the community. Also the entrepreneurial skills imparted to the youth workers, can be used by the youth workers themselves, in the running of their organisations and in the writing and running of projects, making the projects more successful as they will be yielding greater results within the youth sector. Linked to the Europe 2020 strategy our project focused on two of the ambitious goals which are employment and education. Our objectives were also synched with those of the Erasmus + programme, in that we enhanced creativity and innovation through entrepreneurial methods, increasing self-empowerment and self-esteem, achieving personal fulfillment and improve the quality and efficiency of education and training, while decreasing unemployment.
