Objectives

Embedding VVTO and internationalization. Integrate English lessons more into the daily teaching day through e.g. songs, games, classroom English and all kinds of other work forms. In short, make teachers aware that more English can be taught than just using a devised method. Create more openness in speaking and making contact in international contacts within our school. Both for the teacher and for the students. Previous study trips to Pilgrims and the course "Creative Methodology for Primary Teachers" that took place among our teachers were received enthusiastically. Thus we had several colleagues who also wanted to experience this.

Background

As the coordinator of our school VVTO and Internationalization, the request for this project focused on both of these components. In the past, several colleagues have taken a study tour and we (ManagemetTeam) wanted to offer this to all our teachers so that these projects and knowledge ensure a sustainability. We regularly have foreign students in our school that we mentor in their English language teaching and we are working with 5 other European countries on a project that focuses on outdoor lessons. We want all teachers to achieve at least B2 level English and when they do, they are given the space to professionalize in e.g. Clil or TPR. In this way we hope to keep English alive in our school and to keep teachers enthusiastic. They come from the course and pass on their inspiration. Together with the students we would like them to experience that English is not a material that has to be learned as a lesson but a language that is the good to be able to speak for the rest of your further development. With this we increase the support of using the English language through our international projects and the foreign students. More boldness is created in speaking and making contacts.
