With this project the Carmelcollege Gouda employees are given the opportunity to take part in relevant training programmes and courses in order to develop knowledge and skills which will allow them to continue to stimulate and encourage global citizenship, socialisation and personal development within the education we offer. In doing so, we hope to not only afford students the opportunity to earn their diploma but also satisfy society’s demand for facilitating the development of interpersonal skills. In practical terms, we believe that working with new, creative and activating teaching methods, training digital competence and enhancing teaching and learning with technology, and a focus on facilitating the development of both an international mind-set and invaluable 21st century skills, form the core of what is necessary to enhance the quality of the education we offer now and further develop our educational curriculum appropriately as we move into the future.
In order to continue successfully meeting the modern challenges with which they are faced, our students require a mastery of 21st century skills that they not only need to apply during their school career, but also later in life, whilst attending college or university and in their future professions. To assist our students in developing the skills necessary to succeed both now and in their future endeavours, our teachers must also be able to respond to the ever-changing trends in our modern society. We strongly believe that offering our teachers the opportunity to take courses and the chance to take part in relevant professional training programmes plays an integral part in maintaining, and even improving, the quality of education we offer.
