Countries: NL · Grant: €244,904

Objectives

1. Individual internships in a country of your choice. These internships are organized by the students themselves. They themselves look for a company in a country within but also outside Europe, with or without the help of an intermediary agency. This process immediately gives an impulse to the development of independence, entrepreneurship and a sense of responsibility. 2. Exchanges with partner schools in Italy, France, Austria, Germany and Denmark > to gain experience abroad for students at all levels. 3. Internships and specialized vocational training after graduation, such as furniture restoration at the renowned West Dean College in Great Britain and interior design at Thomas More College in Mechelen; a realistic and market-oriented bachelor's degree, with a focus on practice. The internship companies where the students will do their internship must all be recognized by the SBB. The participants also all have to do a language and culture preparation. Making a cost estimate is part of the standard preparation. Upon return, students must submit a cost statement with supporting documents and make a digital final presentation (and/or video report) with an emphasis on the learning and development results.

Background

HMC believes that an international internship makes a great contribution to the development of a young person and of course the HMC supports the ideals of a united Europe. In addition, the HMC sees that in the sectors for which it is trained, operations are increasingly international, which makes it necessary to have a structural orientation abroad. In the long term, the aim is for all students to do at least one exchange and/or internship abroad. The GO8! project is our eighth mobility project for both students and staff. Due to the corona crisis, CALL2019 had a final term of three school years: 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. This has resulted in a number of changes at policy level. In the meantime, the new internationalization policy plan has been published 2021-2025, which, in addition to the corona measures themselves, also influenced the implementation of CALL2019. Both policy plans are enclosed.
