The project supports the main objectives of the internationalisation strategy of ROC MN: - To increase mobility of students to 6% of the student population in 2024 - To have a staff mobility of at least 10% on a yearly basis - To develop Internationalisation at Home and world citizenship education for all the students - To have inclusive mobility The mobilities that are part of this project were directly supportive of these objectives by offering grants to students going on placements or on exchanges and by offering grants to teachers on professional development to schools in other countries
This project is part of a wider strategy to further internationalisation at ROC MN. In a world that is becoming more and more globalised and where democratic values, critical thinking and human rights are under threat it is important that young people are exposed to and learn to deal with the opportunities and threats that are part of this world at this point in time. At the time of the application there was no Covid-19 and no war in Ukraine, but pressure was already growing. The opportunities created by this project are part of a range of activities to integrate and embed internationalisation throughout the college such as other Erasmus projects like KA2, our excellence programme with projects in developing countries, cooperation with our international partners and with regional internationally oriented companies and many promotional activities.
