Objectives

In the autumn of 2018, a new initiative of the European Union was launched under the name of European Solidarity Corps. The thought behind the new program is that it gives young people the opportunities to become more active in Europe on volunteering basis or work in (solidarity) projects in their own country or abroad for the benefit of communities and people throughout Europe. According to European Union guidelines, the new European Solidarity Corps program gives inspiring and empowering experiences to young people and it foster solidarity in the European society, it therefore engage young people and organisations in accessible and high-quality solidarity activities. We endorse the European solidarity thought and consider it as one of the fundamental values of the European Union that connects European citizens and that it helps to establish an common European identity. All the partners involved in this project proposal are convinced that the European Solidarity Corps is an important link to empower young people and enable them to become more European Union engaged. Not only strong exchanges in the field of Solidarity projects will happen, also influencing each other with methodologies and practical methods in youth work will be one of the main priorities. To respond to the above development we created the project “Stand Together In Solidarity” that consist 2 steps: First step is to organize a Study visit in Albania with 28 youth workers/leaders from 14 European Programme Countries. Aim of the Study visit is to learn more about good practices of Albanian organizations in sending and hosting volunteering activities and to get more updated with Albanian volunteering work and on the Western Balkan. Second step is to organize a Contact Making Seminar in Italy. Planning is to invite 14 youth workers/leaders from the Erasmus+ Programme Countries who participated in the Study visit and put them together with 15 youth workers from six Western Balkan countries. An important aim of the Contact Making Seminar is to improve the quality of Erasmus+ projects through close cooperation with all the partners involved.. The overall aim of “Stand Together In Solidarity” is the development of a sense of solidarity between organisations from the Western Balkan and organisations from the Erasmus+ Programme Countries with as end-result to create long-term Erasmus+ projects between European Union and Western Balkan. In addition, we want to achieve the following sub-goals: • to explore the aims and objectives of the Erasmus+ with a special focus on the European Solidarity Corps; • to improved partner finding and networking skills; • to establish a deeper relationship between the partners; • to understanding international youth work as part of general youth work; • to learn from the best practices of Albanian organizations who are active in the European Solidarity Corps; • to explore and discover youth work challenges, potentials and policy in Albania; • to advocate for the techniques of non-formal learning; • to investigate the benefits of the Youth pass; • to develop cooperation across Europe and enhance European networking. The project bring together 28 youth workers/leaders from 29 partners organisations and foster quality European Solidarity Corps improvements through enhanced cooperation between organizations in the youth field. With this it contributes strongly to the Erasmus+ objectives since it enhance the international dimension and capacity of youth workers/leaders and organizations in complementarily with the European Union's.
