With this project we want to achieve awareness on using the exposure to literature from other cultures to broaden a young person’s perspective, to create a dialogue where young people come up with a solution while using literature for a proper dialogue without any prevailing stereotypes, and how literature could help against fake news. Due to the unprecedented influx of refugees and migrants in European societies the past few years the social and cultural structures of our societies have been undergoing a big change. Because of this, European societies have undergone a significant change. Europe is facing a challenge where youth has a risk of developing radical and, in some cases, violent attitudes as the answer to the situation in which they can’t have a proper dialogue with one another because of the prevailing stereotypes. As a group of youth workers and young leaders we are eager to change this problem for the better and find a solution on how to guide the youth into a prosperous society. We believe that literature can be the answer for a strong intercultural dialogue and to lower the risk of radical behavior. The specific objectives of this project are: To let youth discuss the importance of literature in today’s age To create awareness on the disregarding of literature and why literature is useful To establish a network of like-minded youth, organizations and individuals who are interested in further exchange in the topics discussed To help youth understand what is news and what is fake news To create a space for intercultural dialogue between diverse participants To have an open space for future/follow-up projects To use intercultural dialogue and literature as a medium to fight hate speech To combat the current wave of anti-intellectualism
