Objectives

With this youth exchange, we AIM to foster physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle among youngsters, which altogether is pivotal in building a healthier European society and increase general wellbeing and quality of life. The OBJECTIVES of this project are: - to highlight the benefits of physical activity and how to achieve them; - to discover and promote principles of a healthy lifestyle (grassroots sport), eating behaviour, daily schedule); - to prevent sedentary behaviour; - to understand a long-term perspective of the benefits of having a healthy lifestyle and how this influences the whole nation; - to help participants to acquire skills and attitudes needed to live healthily and the motivation to use them after this YE; - to coordinate and work constructively with others, overcoming cultural and language barriers, to achieve common goals; - to promote the accessibility of the Erasmus + Programme for young people with fewer opportunities. The National Physical Activity Survey states, that to be considered "physically active" a person should participate in at least 150 minutes of moderate - intensity physical activity over at least five sessions in a week. Any individual that does not meet this level of exercise is considered to be physically inactive. The World Health Organisation notes that levels of inactivity are high in ALL developed and developing countries. In developed countries, more than half of the adults are insufficiently active. The World Health Organisation notes that our culture increasingly values cars, television, computers, and convenience, making physical activity a less natural part of our lives. The whole population is rapidly becoming less healthy. This is the main issue we are going to address.
