The main goal of this project was to increase the number of international activities in the 10 upper secondary schools in our region. The activities, such as courses, were meant to support our work with strategic school development and professional development of our staff. The project is considered a possibility to gain new knowledge for each participant, but at the same time inspire for international work in general.
Vestfold county council was a school owner, responsible for 10 upper secondary schools. The county council wanted to coordinate a consortium in order to make it easer for the schools to start working with Erasmus+. The project is also an opportunity for the county administration and the schools to cooperate and benefit from the competence in each institution. Erasmus+ is an important program for the educational sector and we want to make use of it and also increase the activities. Erasmus+ contributes to good quality in education. When staff/teachers improve their own practice, get new ideas and new inspiration, the quality of the teaching or support work improves. Our county merged with another county in 2020.
