Objectives

The main aim of what we wanted to achieve in the project was to support the professional development of those who work in education, training and youth with the aim of innovating approach and improving the quality of teaching. We think all departments in school need to take part in international projects to learn and be inspired by different didactics and form of tuition. To raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build a networks of international contacts. In our school science teachers, sports teachers and social/career councillors had never taken part in international projects and therefor we wanted them to have this experience. For the international plan of the school to work all staff need to feel that they can be a part of this and realise that we can and should be open to learn from other cultures and similar leaning institutions abroad.

Background

Our school has coordinated many school partnership projects. Involving mainly teachers of languages, social science, history, design and architecture. The science and sports department have never previous been involved in international projects. The plan was also to encourage career advisors and social councillors to shadow in foreigns school to learn a more entrepreneurial approach to counselling .During a visit to our greek partner school in a KA229 project we were invited to visit the Robotics class. Very impressive work from students and teachers. In our school we have a cross curricular subject called Technology and Science taught by a team of science and design teachers. In this project we wanted our Technology and science teachers learn from meeting observing and shadowing our greek colleagues. The aim was to learn how to work in a more entrepreneurial way and to be involved international cooperation. Due to the pandemic we only managed two mobilities before we had to submit the final report. We were given an option to continue the project and in 2022 top sport teachers went to Rijks in the Netherlands to shadow how they run the top sport department and learn about how to combine sport and school.
