Giving great experiences to VET-learners - giving them the oppertunity to develop speifical skills and new perspectives on their proffesion. But also to stimulate their soft skills; which are of crucial importance to become independent adults. We also wanted to give VET staff the oppertunity to lear something new about their proffession, and get another perspective through seeing others perform the same proffession in another national context.
Aust-Agder fylkeskommune applied for this project to continue their ongoing work woth international mobilities for VET learners and staff. Aust-Agder fylkeskommune found this work important and had buildt up the capacity and gathered support from our politicians over several years. The region is struggeling with finding enough skilled labour for its industries. There is also a problem that not enough youngster choose vocational education, and it is a common perception that vocational education is for the less ambitious students. Aust-Agder fylkeskommune wanted to use Erasmus+ mobilities to give exiting oppertunities for VET learners. The idea was that Erasmus+ mobilities could be used to make vocational education more attractive to all types of pupils. A second point is to enhance their learning, both within their field and their soft skills. Summarized; the project was intended to both give VET learners great oppertunities to learn and grow, while at the same time increasing the status of vocational education overall in the region. The organisation was merged with Vest Agder January 1st 2020. A new coordinator followed the merge.
