Globalization and international/European Citizenship is an important perspective we want the students to experience and develop. Observation of equalities and differences between UK and Norway's kindergardens and that the participation in this hosting perode should lead to developing our programme for children and youth in our school.
First we would focus on how the vocational subject is worked with interational, but with a focus on global Citizenship. In this vocational subjects, there is one particular focus on English, as we experience this as one vocational language both at home and in Europe in general. This is carried out locally in the form of interdiciplinary topics, english and vocational subjects working in projects together. The new curricula out place a particular focus in English on the pupils "finding and explaining international educational programmes and employment opportunities" and that citizenship and interdisciplinarity should play a greater role. This focus on knowledge continues when the pupils return, and they are asked to use experiences from their stay in the work with the subjects English and programme subjects in Children and Youth Work. Our belief is that by offering a broad international offer to our students, this can contribute to increased learning and attractiveness further in life. Globalization and international/European Citizenship is an important reason to apply for this project.
