By participating in international projects, students are getting the opportunity to develop a network with other students from other schools in Europe. They will be trained in the academic, cultural and social behavior. We seek to use varied teaching methods with a strong focus on the students. The school wish to contribute to every student personal and professional development. We cooperate every day with local, regional and international partners so that our students develop the necessary skills in a world in change. We use financial and personal resources in the school to maintain an international focus. It is important for our school to give the students international experience. This is important for several reasons: On the national level it is important that Norway develop a future oriented work force with skills not only in oil and gas industry (which has been an important part of Norway’s financial success), but in new sustainable areas. On the regional and local level, the school is situated in a district with long traditions in producing food and having a large tourism industry. When our students go abroad, they learn skills that are useful in developing a modern, sustainable business in Larvik and Vestfold. Thor Heyerdahl upper secondary school will continue to work within internationalization by having continuity in our international projects.
