Due to the situation in Europe during the pandemic and Brexit, the entire project was significantly reduced. The number of long-term exchanges for our students was reduced in half and Viken County Council put an end to all long-term exchanges for a period of two years. We wanted to collaborate with our new partners in Germany, France and Denmark, in addition to our established partners in Sweden and the UK. Our established partners have extensive experience with exchange students and job shadowing for teachers, and so do our new partners. This would give our students/teachers expanded knowledge of cooperation in Europe in an international and intercultural school environment. In addition, all our partner schools have a large variety of technical and up-to-date equipment, which our students and teachers could take advantage of. This would be of great importance in further working life, in the competition for work passes and apprenticeships. We wanted the students to experience what it was like to live in a different culture with families, different lifestyles, diets and leisure activities. We wanted all to gain experience with more development opportunities and educational methods and partners that they could benefit from later.
After several years of experience with Erasmusplus, we wanted to be able to give this exchange opportunity to as many of our VETprograms as possible. Due to the covid situation, most of our projects were canceled, but some of the projects were carried out. Rud was very grateful when we with funds from Ersmusplus, had the opportunity to send a large number of students on exchange within our programs like skincare and health and social care (HO), sewing and textile (HDP), hairdressing (FBIE), industrial technology and vehicles (TIF) and electrical engineering (EF). With the funds, we have developed cooperation opportunities with several countries. We have therefore had the opportunity to establish exchangeprograms within several educational programs. The Erasmusplus funds have given us the opportunity to look at how we can learn from our partners and what we can learn from each other. Students and teachers have gained up-to-date knowledge of advanced technology. Erasmus plus has given the students a professional and cultural experience and the students improve cultural and social skills.
