Objectives

-Develop global competences as basic skills at Lier USS, ie use Erasmus+ as a possibility to develop students' international skills, language skills and intercultural understanding, so that students are qualified for a global labor market and become responsible European citizens, with a stronger European identity. -That students, teachers, leaders and instructors participate in skills development and professional practice in various practice arenas, schools and in networks. -Allow our students, under supervision, to gain work experience from other cultures. -That we are a host school for foreign students, teachers, leaders and instructors, and that they participate in the training at the school and with our local partners in their companies. -Develop existing and establish new partners in Europe. -Mobility to strengthen interdisciplinary themes and the core elements of subject renewal, especially within the UN's sustainability goals, digitization and technology on which we depend to meet today's and future challenges -Erasmus+ and strategic partnership to promote quality and attractiveness in the school's educational areas, individually, at group level and in the organization.

Background

Lier USS has internationalization and participation in Erasmus + as one of the school's focus areas. The school has identified and built up 4 basic pillars over the years: Differentiated education / Entrepreneurship / Cooperation school - working life and internationalization. The focus areas are clear in the schools management document, included our plan for internationalization (Appendix 2). Erasmus+ projects have been an important investment, this based on feedback from students and staff who have participated in Erasmus + since 2014-2015. We see that mobilities strengthen students' ability to manage their own lives, increase independence and life skills. Tolerance, intercultural understanding is necessary competence in a diverse society. Erasmus+ are an important tool for preventing polarization and raising awareness that we are part of something bigger than a national citizenship. Democracy and the European dimension are an important element where mobility provides an experience that is difficult to transfer to the classroom. We apply because we see that our Erasmus+ project that combines work practice and accommodation in host families contributes to increased learning outcomes personally, professionally and socially.
