We experienced that the students achieved increased personal development through taking responsibility for themselves and their fellow students in a foreign/new environment. Practicing the various professions abroad gave an increased knowledge of the respective industries and a better professional understanding. We also wanted to train teachers through European mobility, both by participating as fellow travelers with their own pupils, but also through sending teachers on courses to update themselves professionally and network with teachers from other countries European countries.
The aims of the project were to a large extent to increase understanding of other cultures and their history. In addition, the students had to practice oral language in a way they would not achieve in Norway. All this at the same time as they reach competence targets in the subjects of vocational training and in program subjects.
