In addition to a broader subject understanding in their repective profession, we aim at equipping pupils with an understanding of how crucial it is to have a high level of tolerance for both everyday and professional culture in other countries, both on an individual level and for society in general. The pupils will get the opportunity to test and develop their language competence in a natural professional context where linguistic and cultural development is linked to practical professional competence. We want the pupils to experience learning with a new and exciting approach. Another long term goal is therefore to prevent dropping out of secondary education and the secure recruitment to important subjects and professions. The teachers involved will get a broader perspective on their professional and paedagogical competence by exchanging approaches, projects and experiences with their colleagues at our partner schools and through practical follow-up in the work-placement organisations and companies.
The aim of the project has been to increase the status of the pupis' profession by emphsizing the different subject's relevance, also in a European setting. We aim at giving the pupils a broad educational offer that that is easily applicable in a professional life, thereby also contributing to the school's attractiveness for applicants and to keep up the programmes we offer. With a background in Troms fylke's strategy plan we want to increase international competence by developing cultural understanding and subject and language competence through international cooperation. Moreover, we'd like to contribute to securing that both economy and society have access to the knowledge and professional competance that is needed.
