The aims of this project were to promote vocational education and training and increase student motivation to complete school education, choose apprenticeships and do fagbrev. Hensikten med dette prosjektet var å fremme yrkesfagene og øke elevenes motivasjon for å velge læretid og ta fagbrev, og dermed få flere motiverte yrkesfagelever som ville velge å gå videre til lærebedrifter og ta fagbrev.
At Aust-Lofoten Upper Secondary School, like the other schools in the Nordland county, the lowest number of students completing the education within norm time are found in the vocational training and education. This is the reason our school wanted to use Erasmus+ as an instrument to increase the status and attractiveness of the vocational subjects in our school. This is in line with Nordland County's international strategy 2016-2020, White Paper no. 14 (2008-2009) that focused on vocational education and training and also in line with national plan for increased participation in Erasmus+ which identifies international mobility as a central measure to make vocational education and training more attractive and increase students' motivation to complete their education at upper secondary level.
