We wanted to establish a targeted program for resident refugees where entrepreneurship would form a platform for language training, work training, introduction to society and other knowledge that resident refugees need to function as business start-ups and residents in Norway.
Meland municipality settled refugees. We experienced that several of our resident refugees succeed to a sufficient degree through the introductory program. We wanted to establish alternative tracks. Many had a background as founders and reported that they wanted to establish their own business in Norway. How could we offer resident refugees an introductory program that provided training and help to start their own business? How other countries solved this challenge. How refugees and other immigrants in other countries succeed through starting their own business.
