The program "Innovative use of ICT to improve students learning" will take into consideration that ICT is one of the 5 basic skills, and is an important tool in students learning. It will make teaching student-centered, active, experimental, collaborative and challenging. ICT is important in our pupils’ everyday life, allowing them to make sense of the world around them and to manage their lives. Through this project we will try to use new and modern ways of teaching and implement the use of ICT in our teaching. We believe that schools need to change their way of teaching from the traditional "read, remember and answer questions" - way, to the modern way based on 21st century skills. OECD use the 4 C's to sum up the 21st century skills: creativity, collobaration, critical thinking and communication. Main objectives to: - develop and share best practices, strategies and working methods between the schools - exchange activities and methodologies between schools -ensure the participation of all pupils without exclusions due to religion, origin, sex, physical abilities -increase the performance levels of students in all schools -promote the development of teachers’ skills and confidence Six partner schools from Poland, Portugal, Italy, Czech republic, Slovenia and Norway will work with the following topics: 1. Programming 2. ICT in matematics 3. Robotics 4. ICT in reading and writing/ Digital art 5. Serious games 6. ICT and 21st century skills We will share good excamples and learn from eachother. During the joint staff meetings we will learn and inspire eachother to use ICT as a natural tool in a modern school. Pupils will: - learn how to use ICT as an important tool in different subjects - learn how to use ICT as a tool in the work with 21st century skills - students with learning issues will be able to use ICT as a tool to improve learning - attend a school where the use of ICT is the normal way of working - use ICT on a daily basis confidently, which will allow them to participate fully in the society - gain new experiences and permanent knowledge through innovative teaching methods and extended learning environments that the class and the book cannot offer -have many opportunities to enrich their knowledge of the culture and history of their country -expand their knowledge of other European countries, their culture and way of life. This will help them to gain awareness of their European identity and to see themselves as future citizens of the great European family. -show respect and tolerance towards other cultures -improve basic and transversal skills in communication, creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, research, presentation -develop their language skills in their mother tongue and gain fluency as they will be asked to describe, express their thoughts, analyze, discuss and communicate through the activities of the project -use the English language and ICT to present their work and communicate (create digital presentations, write e-mails, letters, chats on e-twinning, video conferences) with their European peers Teachers will -share good practices and experiences with their European colleagues and will gain confidence to use innovative, effective methods in their teaching -inspire and motivate students through more innovative and modern use of ICT -enrich their toolbox with new methods of preparation, teaching and evaluation results of a lesson plan -strengthen their educational, communication and class management skills -improve their skills in using English and ICT -Become acquainted with the European educational systems, culture, civilization and lifestyle of other people and will overcome any prejudices and obsessions against different groups. Schools The project will motivate the school organization to improve their way of teaching. The experiences gained from the observation of others’ work will be adapted to the practices of each school in order to improve the quality of education provided to all students. We hope that the project will contribute to the upgrading and enhancing the level of cooperation between school staff.
Within the project "Innovative use of ICT to improve students learning" we wanted to achieve a very good level of ICT content in almost all school curriculum. We wanted to achieve flexibility and proficiency in use of ICT both as a skill and a tool. It was important for the modern European citizens to be able to use ICT as a basic skill, to increase students learning in 21st century skills within the school subjects and work. We strived to develop and share good practise among the partner schools as well as motivate teachers and students to use ICT to develop modern ways of teaching and learning. We decided to try new ways of using ICT as a tool to approach cross-curriculum topics. Main project objectives were to develop and share best practices, strategies and working methods among the schools; exchange activities and methodologies among students and teachers; ensure the participation of all pupils without exclusions due to religion, origin, sex, physical abilities; increase the performance levels of students in all schools; promote the development of teachers’ skills and confidence. For our pupils the additional aims were also to develop their entrepreneurial skills and spirit building small entrepreneurships for charity purposes and recognizing the impact of ICT commercially, to be aware of the restrictive applications of new technologies in the learning process. For teachers it was planned to share good practices and discuss diverse teaching approaches, experience the teaching and learning process in different European educational systems. As well as this we wanted to develop strong ties with their colleagues and continue to cooperate with them in the future, improve language, digital, and communication skills they will use in future European projects, to gain greater understanding of their partners culture and lifestyle. For schools the goals were to get more focused on the possibilities in using ICT, develop new and innovative teaching, get contacts across Europe and in that way become more a part of European education. The last but not the least was to review and evaluate their teaching approaches regarding the development and complex use of ICT and promote enjoyable and fun activities to motivate student. All descrived goals were being achieved throughout daily basis at schools as well as during each working project meeting. Teams created innovative learning strategies for all students, increased learner’s attention and activated learning actions, enabled students to practice the skills of the real world in a safe environment, promoted an inclusive education. The project realization was extraordinary cause of the Covid 19 pandemic time. The way of teaching in European schools changed rapidly. Unprepared schools had to start coping with digital schooling for many months. We used this special time for fulfilling our objectives. With the big help of the project what unified current situation with the project realization we managed to transform into digital schools.
Nowadays, students are very affected by digital tools of entertainment, learning, connecting with peers. The use of ICT is a constant part in every field of current life. The project met the life crucial issues and we wanted to enrich the students education in that need. ICT is important in pupils’ everyday life, allowing them to make sense of the world around them and to manage their lives. To face the challenges of the 21st century each young person needs to have the confidence in using ICT, and Europe needs both specialist and a highly ICT - skilled population. Therefore, this project was due to offer our students a wide range of tools, methodologies and strategies to succeed in deepening their knowledge in ICT. Our schools till the project emerged were quite often behind when it comes to use of technology not only in improving students learning but also in teachers attitude and skills in the field of ICT. These issues were our main reasons of creating this project and applying for it. The crucial needs were to have an educational perspective in the use of ICT, and to use it for all education sake. We believe that the use of ICT improves students learning and that it is the goal of modern attitude towards education. The next need was to implement new and innovative ways of using ICT inside our schools. There is also the international dimention that made this project that wanted. The observation of different teaching methods, exchange of good practices enriched not only the toolbox of all but mostly gave the chance of collaboration with the international colleagues and this is something that couldn’t be done at national level. The school staff wewe able to improve their professional capability, enhance the motivation of the whole school. As a result new ideas flourished to improve future planning for a better education. During 3 years long project time with Covid 19 pandemic our needs met all these opportunities much more intensively. Testing and sharing good excamples was a real support and an exam for our schools as well as entire education world. Today we believe that we used ICT in a better and more modern way after the project period is over.
