UNGVEST – BARNE OG UNGDOMSORGANISASJONENE PAA VESTLANDET is a reference in the Youth field, not only for the Hordaland county, but, by extension, for the whole region of Vestlandet. That means the project will fullfil several interests and will embrace different points of view. Norway, in term of sheer, is the 61st largest country in the world, but for every square kilometre of land, there is an averange of 16,5 people which converts the nation into the 213th most densely populated country on the planet. Moreover, Norway keeps exceeding the global life by over 10 years. It has high fertility and low mortality, for that the population is expecting to become older in the next future. A change has been already registered: in 2018 Norway counted more than 5 millions inhabitants (5,35 millions), a number that was pretty stable since 2012. But, it has to be said that the 72% of the population growth is due to the immigration flows. This has been helping the Norwegian economy indeed by filling the labor gaps. However, the more time passes the more immigrants keep coming and find themselves working on lower wage jobs that makes life harder there. The rapid growth could potentially create an economic issue and also create less demand for jobs and higher levels of uneployment. Especially in the bigger cities such as Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim is concentrated the almost 80% of the urban population, not taking into account rural areas - where farming is still relevant -, from the small stunning coastal fishing villages to the breath-taking montainous retreats. In this situtation a big help from an other European referent in reciving immigrants and activating extended rural areas could be represented by Spain. This country is the 3rd European nation with the most urban population, but also it is one of the country that is trying to involve always more isolated rural villages by creating new concepts of tourism, social and rural entrepreneurial initiatives. If for Norway the issue of over-population in urban areas and depopulation of the rural ones is quite new, Spain had yet a decade of experience in young people living their little villages in the field as well as immigrants not anymore willing to sacrifice their lives in working on jobs that cannot give them the chance to improve their life condition. The problem of these figures lies in the diminished quality of life of the population settled in the rural areas. In these places little by little are disappearing the basic services, in the first place due to the emigration of young people caused by the unemployment, where only older people are left, which implies an aging of the population; these will die or migrate to larger nuclei with their relatives to take care of them. Small populations are more and more isolating themselves, having fewer opportunities, forgetting the culture and old tradition, and losing the feeling of European citizenship. Employment is considered the fundamental pillar for the reactivation of rural areas: historically the population settles where it has its work and a stability, and later they go arising the necessary services for the development and quality of life. “RESETTLEMENT” will be the title of a youth exchange to be performed in Iscar, little village located in areas with great naturalistic potential. There, young representatives of six different countries – Cyprus, Malta, Norway, Romania, Spain and Turkey – will gather and try to find solution in favor of rural resettlement, promoting entrepreneurial initiatives in the fields of leisure, tourism and sport. The main objectives of this ambitious project are: - To reactivate rural areas. - To promote active tourism. - To encourage youth entrepreneurship. - Knowing the resources of the rural environment and creating specific strategies. - Improving the skills of the participants by facilitating their incorporation into the labor market. - Promoting dialogues and experiences among young participants from different countries. - To make also known the opportunities that the Erasmus+ program gives to Youth. The achievement of each of these objectives individually, is a small piece linked to the fullfilment of major objectives such as those of the Erasmus + Program, mainly, arising sense of initiative and increasing the professional perspectives.
