Through the implementation of the project, we wanted to achieve the following goals: -improving the quality of work and activities for students by increasing the competence of employees in organizing the learning-teaching process in an intercultural environment, -modernizing the school through a broader understanding of school management practices and policies, in particular in terms of designing internationalized curricula, -increasing the skills and qualifications of employees and increasing their motivation to work and participation in international projects (with particular emphasis on their linguistic, methodological, cultural and ICT competences), -internationalization of the school by increasing the level of cooperation with foreign partners, participation in a greater number of foreign projects, expanding the network of contacts.
Primary School No. prof. Stanisława Tołpa in Wrocław is a large facility situated in a large, typical, large-city estate in Wrocław, Poland. In relation to the situation in Wrocław, the school is attended by one of the largest groups of foreign students. Over 20% (164 people) of our students are foreigners, mainly Ukrainians, but also Chinese, Danes and English. The phenomenon of multiculturalism in our school is new to us. Teachers, management and administration staff are insufficiently prepared to work in an intercultural environment, which is mainly related to the lack of such previous experience. We applied for the implementation of the project in the face of the urgent need to expand the multicultural and linguistic competences of employees, as well as the need to make changes at the institutional level (in the case of modernization and internationalization of curricula and internal school policy).
