The goal was to advance linguistic competences of teachers that would allow for further coop.within international projects. We also wanted active participation with internat.cooperation with other schools made other competences develop and this aim was achieved. With increasing linguistic competences, we have noticed boost in methodological and digital competences, enabling CLIL elem. implementation to subject-based teaching and interest-oriented classes. Hearing impairment makes it impossible for our students to participate in after classes activities outside school and that is why teachers’ development is so essential to meet the requirements of the technological progress and bring modern world closer to our students. We also wanted our school, apart from being special school, not to be treated as school with less ambitions and possibilities for progress. The project was to create conditions for building a new vision of school development in the future. We wanted to debunk the myth of spec. school as school dealing with segregation education. Through dissemination of activities and effects of the project we wanted to get attention from other teachers, parents and students to the openness of our staff to novelty and development.
The project ‘Special Needs of Edu-Dialogue’ was based on analysis of employees’ needs after Erasmus +KA2 strategic partnership was finished. The overriding need was to increase teachers and therapists’ from Special Educational Centre no 4 in Lodz linguistic and methodological competences. The implementation of this goal will enable better communication of our teachers in a foreign language which is crucial for school’s participation in subsequent educational projects in the future, it will also enable easier access to sources of English literature which in the field of work with students with special educational needs are of outmost importance. The crucial aspect of the following project was also quality enhancement of school management, which, owing to project activities, will be upgraded through effective teamwork, improvement of time management and task planning. Participation in the project will also permit to promote language diversity and intercultural awareness, openness to otherness and hence create even better atmosphere, more conducive to inclusion of the disabled students of our school through their engagement in another projects.
