Objectives

Firstly, to improve teachers' language skills, which in future will make it possible to engage more teachers in the implementation of EU projects, especially in the field of school education. Secondly, to promote an attitude of openness among pupils, motivate them to learn foreign languages, show them the benefits of travelling and learning about the culture of other European countries. The development of language skills will make it possible to use Internet resources in the area of didactics and education, not only Polish, but also English-language ones. Participation in the courses made it possible to learn the working methods of the trainers conducting classes in each country to which the teachers went. An important aspect of the project was to get to know the country (city), its culture and customs of its inhabitants not as tourists but as participants in everyday life in the selected location.

Background

Primary School No. 31 in Rzeszów was established in 2017 from the transformation of Gimnazjum No. 1 as a result of the introduction of educational reform. Erasmus + KA2 action projects were implemented at the lower secondary school - this was made possible by the fact that the school was attended by young people aged 13-16 who participated in mobilities. In the primary school, pupils aged 7-15 were studying. In 2019-2021, there were more younger children at school (7-11 years old), which made it impossible to implement projects related to pupils' mobility. Therefore, the idea was conceived to use this time to improve the language competences of the teachers of the various subjects so that in the future they would be involved in the implementation of projects related to the departure of senior pupils. The departure of 3 English teachers (only 1 remained) motivated the remaining teachers to take up English language courses in Poland and encouraged them to work on the project.
