Our main goal was to raise the competences of teachers in selected areas, in accordance with the development plan of our facility. Developing the language skills of the staff and learning about new technologies, programs and applications necessary for the teacher's work were our primary goals. We have been participating in Erasmus + KA1 and KA2 projects for many years, so we know how important language skills and ICT are in their implementation. Our goal was to better prepare our employees, including new ones, who had not had the opportunity to participate in similar projects before, to implement international projects in the future. It was important for us to improve the substantive and methodological skills in the field of teaching English. By giving teachers a chance for development, we raise the level of their work and the satisfaction that comes from it, which has a positive effect on students. Participation in the project increases the status of the institution in the local environment, giving it a European dimension and allows it to be equal to schools in large urban centers.
Due to the implementation of many Erasmus+ projects over the years, with the development of ICT and globalization, the knowledge of the English language among school staff and the ability to use ICT in teaching are essential. We applied for the project because it gave us the opportunity to develop these skills and achieve goals in accordance with the European development plan of our school. Although we are a small institution located in a small town, we want to provide our students with the same opportunities and quality of teaching that students experience in larger cities. The implementation of Erasmus+ projects, contact and cooperation with organizations from various European countries make it easier for us. In order to better carry out our tasks, it is necessary to constantly raise and develop the competences of the teaching staff, which at the same time prevents routine and professional burnout. Our teaching team has been joined by many new teachers: newly employed and from the former gymnasium, who are interested in participating in projects, but do not have experience or sufficient language preparation. Knowledge of English also facilitates access to the latest technologies and applications needed in the work of a teacher.
