Beneficiaries of the project were students attending catering school, studying to obtain qualifications of a nutrition and catering technician. Project participants found the beginning of their professional development difficult because of high unemployment in the area and low level of economical mobility of citizens. They lacked vocational experience and confidence in their abilities.Work placements,we had applied for, were their first contact with foreign employers and their first stay abroad. We wanted them to expand their language skills and getting to know basic knowledge of Spanish. Students received certificates recognised abroad, which will facilitate finding a job abroad in order to improve their skills further and ultimately to come back to the country. It is important for them to become independent and feel the need for further improvement. We wanted qualified employees to be present on the local labour market. Important was to equalise the chances of participants coming from large or single-parent families and the ones who live in the countryside. Our aim was to raise the school prestige and increase the number of students who will attend the school. We aimed to gain experience in managing EU projects.
