Objectives

The main goal of the approved project (based on the financial agreement) was to ensure an increase in the vocational mobility, competences and competitiveness of 43 students of ZS on the labor market. Due to COVID, 36 mobilities were successfully completed. The project as well pursued the following goals: Building the international potential of ZS (including expanding the number of foreign partners, submitting new projects), improving the quality of teaching (introducing changes in preparatory courses, better understanding the needs of employers), increasing the competences of the project team. In a broader perspective, the project was also to contribute to increasing the human potential of the city of Lubin and its vicinity by preparing highly qualified staff for the companies operating here.

Background

The project was implemented as a response to the educational and development needs of our school - ZS (Zespół Szkół Nr 2 im. Jana Wyżykowskiego w Lubinie). The project responded to the key needs of the school, such as: Improving the quality of teaching, increasing the number of foreign partners and building long-term, positive relationships with partners, improving the organizational competences of the project team and the quality of implemented projects. We feel a strong need to consult the methods used in the education process with representatives of employers, because in our opinion, this is the only way we can prepare our students for the current market needs. We wanted to verify whether the education process in Poland is not overly focused on programs preparing for vocational exams, in isolation from the actual market needs. At the same time, we wanted to offer the opportunity to gain invaluable vocational experience and personal development for our students. It was also very important for us to establish contact and build a network of hosting organizations in different countries.
