Objectives

The main objective of the project was to introduce subsequent groups of students and the school’s educational staff to professional mobility and improvement of professional competences in the international environment, in the European Union, in accordance with the school’s European Development Plan. The project was aimed at creating the opportunities to improve the linguistic, cultural and cross-sectional competences of participants in the real conditions of the international environment. The aim of the project was also to improve the interpersonal competences of its participants, especially students, by engaging them in situations in which they had to demonstrate independence, creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to deal with stress. Another important goal was to enable students and teachers to learn about new technologies and processes, as well as innovative forms and methods of teaching that are used in other European countries. In accordance with the objectives of the school’s European Development Plan, the project was also aimed at increasing the number of participants of foreign internships and vocational training at our institution, both students and staff, and at including all the professions, trained in our school, into foreign mobilities.

Background

The project covered by this report was a response to the needs of the students of the Regional Center for Vocational Education in Nisko, as well as its educational and managing staff in the aspect of improving their professional, linguistic and cultural skills in an international environment. The project was aimed at including all the professions on the school's offer, as well as the staff, into VET mobilities. Our institution is the leader in implementation of the Erasmus + program in the district, and the the project was to ensure the continuation of these activities. An additional motivation was the fact that many of our students come from rural backgrounds, are often in a disadvantaged financial situation and demonstrate low self-esteem. Through the implementation of the project, we wanted to create opportunities for such students to broaden their perspectives.
