The work of employees of the Public Employment Services (PES) is related to helping people in difficult situations, therefore it is important to have a strong motivation to work. The opportunity to participate in mobility projects strengthens this motivation and allows the exchange of experiences with other people who try to help and solve problems of similar groups of unemployed people in their work. Motivation to work is also needed to implement the idea of lifelong learning and to convey this idea to people using the help of PES specialists, who often expect new solutions and an attractive offer of help. Expanding the worldviews and thought horizons of employees and people having strategic influence on the development of the organization is important when adapting new ideas, projects and solutions. The main goal of the project was to raise the knowledge of 50 mobility participants in the field of an innovative approach to working with PES clients, through the implementation of 4 trainings and transferring the acquired knowledge during "mini-training" to other employees of the organizations forming the consortium. Moreover, the implementation of the project was aimed at increasing the number of new training products and increasing the language competences of employees.
In the European Organization Development Plan prepared in 2018, an analysis of the development needs of employees was carried out, which allowed to determine what types of training and thematic areas are important for employees in order to enable them to work more effectively with clients, as well as an analysis of the challenges that employees of the Public Employment Services will face in 2019 and beyond. The challenges included mismatch in the qualifications of the unemployed remaining in the Local Labour Offices registers with the qualifications required by employers, lack of motivation of Local Labour Offices clients to undertake education and development, e.g. soft skills, acceptance of professional passivity, professional and social exclusion. Working with a difficult client, recognizing his needs and effective motivation to take action, requires the employees of Public Employment Services to deepen their qualifications and develop soft skills: empathy, mindfulness, active listening, non-violent communication, resistance to stress and burnout. A great opportunity to gain new knowledge, skills and experience are foreign training and mobility of staff implemented under the Erasmus + program.
