Project "The Key. Exchange of skills, experience and cultural background" is a bilateral exchange, which will be attended by 36 young people from Poland and Hungary who are involved in various forms of youth activity at the local and state level on a daily basis. The seven key competences of the European Union are the main theme of the exchange. Young people involved in this project have chosen four of them, to devote two full days of the exchange to each one of them. Those are: Cultural awareness and expression, Literacy and languages, Entrepreneurship and Civic competences. All activities taking place during the respective days will be closely related to the assigned topic; they will all begin with a historical and cultural introduction, during which participants from Poland and Hungary will present to others historic figures that had a significant impact on the development of a given field in each country. Next on the agenda are soft skills workshops. They will be conducted by one out of four groups of participants, which has decided to devote to that competence during the preparations. Each workshop related to the matter of a given key EU competence will end in a team task prepared by the given group. Afternoon workshops during every two themed days will focus on practical skills. They will be organized by pairs of the event’s attendees who volunteered to do this during the preparation time, each of whom will teach the activity which they feel most confident carrying out (and which naturally is related to the theme of the day). Upon completion of the activities, group members will determine how the skills acquired during each day can be used to prepare their final works, which will be presented on the last day of the project. In addition, we are planning events such as cultural evenings, which will allow us to further explore different cultural elements pertaining both nations. The project will be wrapped up by the presentation of final works created by the Polish-Hungarian groups with the support of four project leaders throughout the exchange. The works will serve as various interpretations of the well-known saying "Pole and Hungarian brothers be". Those outlets of artistic expression are to become materialized conclusions which the participants will take away from the whole endeavor. The works will be performed before the local residents of the city, documented and published via all promotion channels for the project. In addition, a document summarizing the workshops scenarios and the original rivalry tasks will be created, ready to be shared online by Polish and Hungarian national youth councils for the young social activists to use and learn from. We believe that it will be a proof that international youth cooperation can be effective and valuable, as well as a sign that young people need more activities focused on cultural exchange. The main objective of the project is to teach each other skills useful in further social campaigning. It was agreed upon in cooperation with all of the participants, that taking advantage of the Erasmus+ program, they want to share their knowledge and experience along with the opportunity to teach others what they feel best at doing. At the same time, they will gain or develop the ability to conduct workshops. Both this and the elements of rivalry will provide the participants with the possibility of intense work in groups and continuous exchange of good practices. The idea underlying the whole undertaking is cultural exchange. We want to inspire national groups to start cooperating, because we believe that it can turn into a permanent international partnership on various levels.
